Black Stars will Return back to Ghana in December emerge as world champions – Sports Minister

 



The Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Mustapha Ussif has made a huge claim that the Black Stars will come back to Ghana as champions of the world in December.

The minister said this on Saturday during the coca cola World Cup trophy tour of Ghana. This was on the arrival of the trophy at the Kotoka International Airport.

Hon. Mustapha Ussif did not fail to mention Luis Suarez denying Ghana a historic semifinal berth in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa with a goal-line clearance.

“In November/December, it (the World Cup trophy) will come back here with Ghana as champions of the world,” Ussif said.

“It is possible. We saw what happened in South Africa. But for the hand of that Suarez, Ghana would have been to the semifinal and would have come home with the trophy.

“This is the time for Ghana to show to the rest of the world we are capable of bringing this trophy to Africa, In Sha Allah [if God wills].”

Mustapha Ussif added that seeing the World Cup trophy and meeting French legend David Trezeguet is a special feeling.

Trezeguet is leading the trophy tour of all 32 qualified teams ahead of this year’s tournament in Qatar.

“This is very special. These are football icons we are always seeing. This is the first time I’m meeting him personally, so it’s a special feeling, just like we are going to see the trophy.”


The Black Stars have returned to the tournament after missing out in the 2018 edition.

I'll Be Very Careful Supporting #Fix The Country Openly _ Manasah Azure

  Manasah Azure Anti-graft campaigner, Manasseh Azure, has indicated his hesitation to openly support the #FixTheCountry Movement following the arrest of one of their conveners. Oliver Barker-Vormawor, a convener of the movement has been arrested and is facing charges of treason following an alleged ‘coup-inciting’ comment he made on social media. COURT'S ORDER FOR UTAG TO CALL OFF THE STRIKE PROGRESSIVELY

The Ministry of Education believes that the court order for striking public university lecturers to return to the classroom is progressive and affords government the opportunity to properly engage the lecturers on their demands. According to the ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Kwesi Kwarteng, the ministry is hoping that a lasting solution will be found and lecturers permanently returning to the lecture rooms. Speaking on Eyewitness News, he said the ruling of the court is in the right direction, as Ghana’s labour laws are explicitly against an aggrieved party being on strike while negotiations are ongoing. “For us, we find it a bit progressive the decision by the court that granted the injunction relief which was being sought by the National Labour Commission because, in the end, parties would have to get back to negotiations and the laws of our land is very clear.
